Zach Lutz is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus on reporting. This is just Zach’s first year at Wisconsin and first semester in the journalism school after spending his first two college years at the University of Minnesota studying sports management.

Zach grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. From a young age he became infatuated with sports and statistics, especially baseball. Participating in and watching sports through high school formed his passion for and desire to work in the world of sports. Combining writing and analysis with sports seems to be the best fit for Zach and could lead him to a career he loves.

Zach was surprised when he first heard Wisconsin did not have a baseball team and because of his love for the sport, the absence of the program emerged as an ideal topic for a semester long investigative story. Zach hopes this website will be the first in a long list of baseball related content.
